Rock On!!: Rocking All The Way…

Bollywood does not churn out buy-able music very often. By “buy-able” I am referring to albums that you would be willing to spend a few hundred bucks on instead of downloading songs through Ares. Rock On! comes as a blast of freshly scented breeze in an atmospheric strata saturated with “filmy” and “Punjabi hip-hop” music.
Youthful to the core, the tracks exude freshness, novelty and enthusiasm. Farhan Akhtar gives his all and each piece shines through with all its musical grandeur.Shankar Ehsaan Loy weave their magic once again and Javed Akhtar can hardly ever go wrong with the lyrics.
“Socha Hai”, “Pichhle Saat Dinon Mein”, “Sindbad The Sailor” ( Farhan Akhtar and Raman Mahadevan) and the title track are catchy and extremely hummable. The Live Version even managed to give the the “josh-type” goosebumps. Rock On! is not all rock and roll- “Ye Tumhaari Meri Baatein” ( by Dominique Cerejo) and “Tum Ho To” are dreamy numbers to provide romantic relief. “Phir Dekhiye” (Caralisa Monteiro) fall into the good-average category while “Zehreelay”, by old-time rocker Suraj Jaggan will strictly appeal to hard-rock and metal fans.
Overall, a totally rocking and awesome album- highly recommended for long drives and bathroom dancing.
