This Miracle happened first! Dec 24, 2009
By Jeff Czajka
"North Coast Hab"
I knew some of the names and statistics but this film brings it all to life. Great interviews with players from 1960 team USA. The game footage shown is priceless, I just wish there was more.
These guys had to beat the Canadians and the Russians and they too (like the 1980 team) had to bounce back quickly and play one more game against the Czechs (not the Finns this time) to win the gold medal.
No disrespect whatsoever to Team USA from 1980. Those guys deserve all the credit they have received, but the 1960 team deserves just as much for winning the first gold medal in Olympic hockey for the USA.

Forgotten Miracle Remembered, Finally! Jan 24, 2010
By Patricia J. Armstrong Finally this team gets the kudos they have been deserving for 50 years! Great archival footage that was dug out from all over the world! I did not know the full story of this teams march to winning the Gold Medal, so it was fascinating to learn all the details. Good story, and timely, with the 50th anniversary of their win coming up! A must see for any hockey lover!

At long last! Feb 23, 2010
By Evan English Hockey fan or not, there is something for everyone in this DVD. Like the overdue history-dramas about our greatest generation's stuggles in WWII, this film brings home the message of athletic excellence and teamwork with the backdrop of the cold war. Since the mega-hype we are now accustomed to was not present when these few pulled off their miracle, most of us are not familiar with the story. Without miles of film or tape to draw from, this production utilizes interviews with the folks who were there, as in the HBO production "The War", by Ken Burns. This film is as much a history lesson as it is sports entertainment and is a must see for even the casual sports fan.

Forgotten Miracle Mar 01, 2010

"USA Hockey Fan"
This is the perfect documentary for a hockey fan. The documentary, while lacking in actual footage does a wonderful job through personal interviews with the players, families, and hockey experts to tell the story of the 1960 USA hockey team. The documentary is also the perfect amount of time, allowing you to watch the whole thing in an hour and really let you know the story of the team. I would definitely recommend adding this to your DVD collection

on my hockey all-star team Feb 27, 2010

"Cossacks Hockey"
I have been a hockey parent, coach, collector and fan for over fifty years, and this wonderful DVD is a must-own for all you hockey pucks out there. It ranks right up there with the two DVDs "Pond Hockey" and "Golden: The Hobey Baker Story", plus the two books "Home Ice" and "Open Ice" by Jack Falla. I know the Cleary brothers, and "The Forgotten Miracle" shows how they and their 1960 teammates represent everything heroic and honorable about hockey in particular and athleticism in general. If they hadn't "set the table" back in 1960, I doubt if Herb Brooks and the "Do you believe in miracles" team of 1980 would ever have had its own success story. Have a box of tissues handy when you view this, or for that matter when you read or view the other four members of my "all-star" team.
